One person is dead and five others are still missing after Sunday afternoon's string of blasts at a chemical plant in Jilin City of northeast China's Jilin Province, according to official government sources. China's official petroleum news website said that so far, 21 out of some 70 injured workers are still in hospital for further observation. Two heavily injured people are safe now after they emerged from medical operations, sources with the local hospital said. (Smoke billows out after a series of blasts hit a chemical factory in Jilin City, Northeast China's Jilin Province Sunday November 13, 2005. Six workers were missing and 70 others were injured, with tens of thousands local residents evacuated.
