A MAN who allegedly threatened to shoot down a noisy helicopter flying over his Gold Coast house has been charged by police. The man, 34, allegedly made a number of telephone calls to Air Services Australia in Canberra yesterday afternoon to complain about the noise from the chopper hovering over his house, saying he would shoot it down, police said. Authorities searched the man's Sorrento home but no weapons of any kind were found. The man is due in the Southport Magistrates Court today charged with two counts of threatening to endanger the safety of an aircraft. Police said such threats were taken "very seriously" and were not tolerated.
