Nokia's upcoming smart phone browser gets help from the open-source community and from a friend named Apple. June 14, 2005 Nokia is leveraging technology from both open-source programmers and Apple in the new mobile phone browser it announced this week at its annual conference in its hometown of Helsinki. Nokia spelled out further details of its work with Apple on Tuesday. The new browser isn’t aimed at producing a specific line of Apple-branded phones, said Nokia executives. Instead, the partnership represents a mutual interest in bringing the open-source model to phone development.
